Drywall Removal for Renovation Projects, Demolition Jobs, and Contractor Sites

Drywall Removal Jobs We Handle

Renovation debris pickup: If the drywall has already been removed from the walls and is stacked or piled in the space, we carry it out and load it onto the truck. This is the most common call we get for drywall. No sorting required on your end. We handle the carrying and disposal.

Demolition and removal from the studs: On some jobs, the drywall needs to come off the walls before the renovation can begin. We can assist with the physical removal of drywall from framing as part of a broader interior clearance, working alongside your renovation or in advance of the contractor arriving. Scope is confirmed before the job begins.

Contractor site pickup: Contractors who generate drywall waste on a regular basis can arrange recurring pickup or book us for each project individually. We accommodate both. Commercial invoicing is available for all contractor jobs.

Residential renovation cleanup: Homeowners finishing a basement, renovating a kitchen, or opening up walls for plumbing or electrical access often end up with a significant pile of drywall. We show up, carry it all out, and leave the space clear.

What Drywall We Remove and What to Know Before Booking

We remove standard drywall and related materials from residential and commercial properties. Because drywall is priced by weight and volume, larger loads require an estimate first.

  • Standard drywall sheets and offcuts
  • Drywall removed during renovation or demolition
  • Mixed drywall and plaster debris
  • Drywall from basement finishing or wall opening work
  • Drywall from kitchen and bathroom renovations
  • Drywall from commercial interior strip outs
  • Broken or damaged drywall from construction sites

Important note on older drywall: Drywall and wall coatings in properties built before approximately 1980 may contain regulated materials, including asbestos. If there is any uncertainty about the age of the drywall or the history of the property, we strongly recommend having the material assessed by a certified inspector before booking removal. We do not transport or dispose of material that may contain regulated substances. Once the material is confirmed to be safe for standard disposal, we are ready to proceed.

Drywall is heavier than most people expect. A standard sheet of half inch drywall weighs around 55 pounds. A sheet of five eighths inch type X can reach 75 pounds or more. When a renovation generates a full truckload of drywall, that adds up quickly. Pricing for drywall removal is based on the volume and weight of the load, which is why we provide a firm price before starting rather than charging by time.

The process is straightforward. You call or book online, we come out and assess the pile, and we give you a price on the spot. Our crew carries the drywall out of the property, loads the truck, and takes it to a licensed facility. Where the load is clean enough, we separate it for drywall recycling, which diverts the material from landfill and can reduce disposal costs on larger loads.

We serve homeowners, contractors, and property managers across Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering, and surrounding GTA areas. Call (289) 212-0002 or book a free estimate online.

Frequently Asked Questions About Drywall Removal and Disposal

Common questions from homeowners and contractors about drywall removal.

Do you remove drywall that is still on the walls, or only debris that is already down?

Both. If the drywall has already been removed and is stacked or piled in the space, we carry it out and haul it away. If you need drywall taken off the framing as part of a broader interior clearance or renovation preparation, we can assist with that as well. Scope is confirmed before the job begins so you know exactly what is included.

Is old drywall safe to remove?

Drywall installed after approximately 1980 is generally safe for standard removal and disposal. Drywall and wall coatings in older properties may contain asbestos or other regulated materials. If there is any uncertainty about the age or composition of the drywall, we recommend having it assessed by a certified inspector before booking. We do not handle or transport material that may contain regulated substances. Once the material is confirmed safe, we proceed with the removal.

How is drywall removal priced?

Drywall is priced based on volume and weight. Because drywall is significantly heavier than most renovation waste, a small pile by appearance can still represent a substantial load. We provide a firm price on arrival after seeing the material. There are no surprise charges at the end of the job. Contractor accounts come with consistent pricing across multiple jobs.

Do you separate drywall for recycling?

Yes, where the load is clean enough for recycling. Clean drywall scraps and offcuts are separated and taken to licensed drywall recycling facilities in the GTA rather than going to landfill. Mixed loads containing significant contamination or other materials may go to general disposal. Ask us about recycling options when you call.
