Junk Removal and Furniture Removal for Seniors and Families Across the GTA

Senior Downsizing Junk Removal Services in Toronto and the GTA

Downsizing Situations We Help Seniors and Families Navigate

Moving from a house to a condo or apartment: When a senior moves to a smaller space, most of the furniture and household contents simply will not fit.

Moving to a retirement residence or assisted living: The transition to a retirement community usually means bringing only a small selection of personal belongings. We clear the remaining furniture, appliances, and household contents from the home at a pace that works for the family.

Family members coordinating on behalf of a parent: We work directly with whoever is coordinating the job, whether that is the senior themselves, a family member, or a move manager, and we keep everyone informed throughout.

Estate related situations: When a home needs to be cleared following the passing of a family member, we approach the job with care and discretion. Items that can be donated are separated before anything goes to disposal.

What the Downsizing Process Looks Like When You Work With Us

  1. Call or book online and we will discuss what needs to go, what should be donated if possible, and what timeline works for your family.
  2. We visit the home, confirm what is being removed, and give you a firm price. If you are not sure what to keep yet, that is fine. We can work around the items being kept and come back for a second visit if needed.
  3. On the day of the job, our crew handles all the carrying and loading.
  4. Where possible, items in good condition are set aside for donation to local charities and organizations. Electronics, appliances, and materials that can be recycled are sorted accordingly. What remains goes to the appropriate disposal facility.

Donation is a priority wherever possible. Furniture, clothing, kitchenware, books, and household items in good condition are separated and delivered to local donation organizations where possible. We will let you know what we were able to donate after the job is complete.

Frequently Asked Questions About Senior Downsizing Junk Removal

Do you donate items rather than sending everything to the dump?

Yes. We donate where possible. Furniture, clothing, kitchenware, books, and household items in good condition are separated and delivered to local donation organizations where possible. We will let you know after the job what was donated and what went to disposal. If there is a specific charity or organization you would like items to go to, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

Does the senior need to be home during the junk removal?

No. Many families manage the downsizing process on behalf of a parent who has already moved or who finds the process difficult. As long as someone can let our crew in and confirm what is being removed, the senior does not need to be present. We work with adult children, move managers, and other family members regularly.

Can you come back for a second visit if we need more time to sort through things?

Yes. We understand that decisions about what to keep take time, especially when going through a home that has been lived in for many years. We can complete a first visit to remove items that are clearly going, and return for a second visit once the family has had time to sort through the rest. Just let us know when you book.

What areas do you serve for senior downsizing junk removal?
